Join the Smart Beginnings NRV's Reading Hour team and celebrate Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. with preschoolers across the New River Valley!

The Reading Hour team will be leading circle time reads with preschool classrooms to teach preschoolers about MLK’s work and themes of inclusion. As a volunteer, you will interact with children in small groups to guide them through an activity designed by the team. You will receive an overview of the event’s details before entering the classroom.

Any student is welcome to sign up for this trip, but space is limited.  Volunteers will depart campus at 10:45 a.m. and return by 12:45 p.m.  Transportation is provided.
