Event Time and Date
Join VT Engage over spring break for a service immersion trip!
We will travel to Hurley, Virginia and work with Hurley Community Development Inc. Starting in 1995 when a group of community members came together to discuss their community and their hopes and dreams for the future, Hurley Community Development Inc. has expanded to serve various aspects of community life. Participants on this immersion trip will engage with a variety of programs such as home repairs and food distribution while learning about the Hurley community and challenges faced in rural southwest Virginia.
This trip will depart campus on Sunday, March 5 and return on Saturday, March 11. All transportation, food, and lodging are included in the price of the trip.
The cost of this trip is between $200 and $250. A limited amount of need based financial assistance is available. Please contact Service Learning Coordinator Lisa Hill at email@example.com if you have questions about financial assistance.
All graduate and undergraduate students are welcome to apply, but space is limited. The deadline to apply is January 29, 2017. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, the trip may fill before the application deadline.
VT Engage is currently accepting applications for this and one other alternative spring break trip for 2017. Visit the Spring Break Service Trip: Friends of the Blue Ridge Parkway page for more information.
